GEM IN THE ROUGH
New York, NY
A 'gem in the rough' and in a great Chelsea neighborhood, my client's outdated kitchen was poorly lit and isolated from the rest of her apartment.
Large windows with views of the Hudson River were a positive feature that we agreed should be maximized, so I began by removing a partition, opening the kitchen up to the living area. With all that natural light now flowing in, I reduced glare by using a matte finish on the cabinets. White appliances with touches of stainless steel update the look, keeping the room fresh and bright, while also keeping the budget within a comfortable range for my client.
Granite countertops were a splurge, but add luxury and resale value to the apartment. The ceramic tile floor was replaced with wood plank flooring, which allows the kitchen to flow into the rest of the apartment.
A 'gem in the rough' no more, this Chelsea jewel shines and is ready for a party!
