Oftentimes, a client's project branches out beyond the scope of the original room which they have hired me to design. In this case, clients for whom I was designing two bathrooms requested that I also assist in updating their dark, narrow entry hall.
Once their bathrooms were completed and the risk of damaging the hallway walls reduced, we installed new recessed light fixtures which are energy efficient while providing superior light quality and color rendition.
Electrical switching options were updated which now allows the lights to be controlled from either end of this long expanse. A fresh, new color on the walls gives the illusion of greater width in this long, narrow space and doors were replaced with solid-core pine, finished in a dark stain. Simple trim was added as well as sleek stainless steel hardware. All of these details work together to create a more welcoming, elegant entryway.
