A 4-story brownstone in an historic Jersey City neighborhood, this house
had been subjected to several 'creative' renovations over the years,
none of which had done it justice. The ceilings soared at over 10 feet and original moldings remained in some of the rooms.
At the time we began the renovation, the top two floors were being used as a rental property. But once the tenants moved out, the demo began.
High-quality paint was used in all of the rooms due to its many excellent qualities, the most critical of which is its low fume output - an important consideration, especially when designing interior spaces which will be inhabited by small children.

Shortly after we had transformed the top floors of the house, the ground floor paled in comparison. The rooms were not only outdated, they felt disconnected and didn't function well for a family of four.
Finally, a water leak exacerbated the need for a renovation, which was already on the horizon.
