AN URBAN RENEWAL
New York, NY
Kitchen
The original kitchen had outdated appliances, a dingy laminate countertop and assorted task lights which had stopped working long ago.
Ventilation was non-existent, save for a casement window behind the range.
By working in cooperation with the building's engineer and co-op board,
and with a lot of creativity from LM Designs, we were able to vent the hood outside through the former opening of the casement window.
Below the hood, we installed a new, weather-tight vinyl window.
New appliances and fixtures are energy efficient and conserve water.
Halogen task lighting installed below the wall cabinets and in the ceiling are energy efficient while still providing high-quality light.
The new countertop in luminescent, synthetic white granite reflects light back into the room and a deep, a stainless steel sink and chrome faucet are practical,
yet lovely. Add to all of this a fresh coat of paint and the room was infused with new life.
Now they're "cookin' with gas"!
