BROWNSTONE PROJECT continued …
Jersey City, NJ
First Floor Powder Room
A full bath was unnecessary on the first floor of the brownstone,
but a pretty powder room was essential.
So the tub/shower were eliminated and the bathroom reconfigured,
providing much-needed space for the kitchen.
Drawing from the historic styles of the geographic area, as I did with the top two floors of this house, I specified traditional, white subway tile and white fixtures with a classic profile.
To make the final transformation from tiny bathroom to precious jewel box,
the sink wall is clad with glass mosaic tiles in iridescent tones and is illuminated by sconces with warm, incandescent light.
A deep, midnight blue ties the whole package together, like a big satin bow.
